With a presence in over 100 countries and 29 global subsidiaries, Vatech continues to expand its impact across the world’s healthcare markets.

In this edition of Explore Vatech Networks, we turn our spotlight to Taiwan—where Assistant Manager Tony Chen from the Business Support Team reflects on a year of growth, service, and purpose.

Hello, I’m Tony Chen, and I currently work in the Business Support Team at Vatech Taiwan. My role centers around ensuring smooth communication between our local team and headquarters. Alongside that, I manage VCSM case organization, software testing and training, and regulatory matters for medical device licensing. Recently, as our collaboration with Ourui (Woorien) has deepened, I’ve also taken on the role of bridge between the two teams, helping projects move forward seamlessly.

Vatech Taiwan may not be large in size, but our team’s spirit and unity more than make up for it. This environment has given me countless opportunities to learn across diverse areas of our business and grow both professionally and personally.

Finding Meaning in Work and Service

When I first joined Vatech, the dental X-ray field was an entirely new world to me. I had to start from the ground up—but that challenge was what made the journey so exciting. Interestingly, it was my Korean language skills that initially opened the door. I still remember my thirty-minute interview conducted entirely in Korean with the branch manager—it remains one of my fondest memories.

As my work progressed, I found myself supporting field engineers who manage multiple units at once. I learned to assist with installations and even picked up skills related to maintenance and troubleshooting. Through these experiences, I came to deeply respect the professionalism and accountability of our engineers—their work reminded me that true expertise comes with an unwavering sense of responsibility.

One memory that stands out is our medical volunteer mission with the Luzhu Dental Association. That experience changed my perspective on what it means to give back. What we take for granted in the city can mean hope and health for those in underserved areas. It reminded me why I chose this path and deepened my gratitude for the work we do.

Driven by Sincerity, Creating Change

Recently, something truly meaningful happened at Vatech Taiwan. The Nantou region has long struggled with limited dental resources due to its size and relatively small population. When our branch manager learned about this, he decided to donate a PaX-i unit in alignment with Vatech’s people-centered management philosophy. Through this initiative, we aim to bring structured digital diagnostics and more efficient treatment to the local dental community.

Being part of this project reminded me that medical technology, at its core, is about compassion. It strengthened my sense of purpose and reaffirmed that our daily work carries real social value. To me, Vatech and Vatech Taiwan are not just companies—they are partners of progress, making tangible, positive changes in society through action.

Growing Together Toward Our Dreams

These days, I work closely with our branch manager, assisting across various areas of business operations. There’s still much to learn, but I’m eager to continue growing into a team member who brings real value to others and contributes to the company’s development.

Vatech Taiwan is a team on a steady path of growth, and I hope to play my part in ensuring that progress continues. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to our colleagues at headquarters in Korea. Your support and guidance have been invaluable to me—fueling my learning and giving me the confidence to take on new challenges. I look forward to achieving even more meaningful milestones together.
